Sponsor Capital has acquired Orthex Group, a leading Nordic manufacturer of plastic household goods, from Intera Partners, signaling a new era of growth for the company under committed management.
Information on the Target
Orthex Group, the leading manufacturer of plastic household goods in the Nordic region, has transitioned to ownership by Finnish private equity investor Sponsor Capital and the company's management team. This shift follows Intera Fund I's complete divestment from Orthex Group on December 21, 2015.
Since Intera's investment in 2009, Orthex has expanded from a local manufacturer to a prominent Nordic corporation, acquiring Swedish firms Sveicon and Hammarplast. During Intera's ownership period, the company experienced substantial revenue growth, increasing from just over €10 million to nearly €60 million through both organic expansion and acquisitions. Today, Orthex stands as a market leader in plastic household products in the Nordics, producing over 85% of its products locally across three factories in Finland and Sweden.
