Re-Pie Portfolio’s Retail Venture Capital Investment Fund has acquired a 30% stake in DMR Unlu Mamüller AŞ, the production company of Simit Sarayı. This strategic investment aims to bolster DMR’s capabilities in exporting branded food products. Following this acquisition, DMR's valuation has reached 960 million lira, and the funds injected by the retail venture capital will facilitate the establishment of a second factory, creating 400 new jobs. In addition to producing and selling ready-to-eat products in channels outside of Simit Sarayı stores, DMR plans to increase its export activities significantly.
In a statement, Dr. Emre Çamlıbel, Chairman of Re-Pie’s Board of Directors, highlighted that the investment target is to capitalize on competitive exchange rates to support a company that exports its products. DMR was identified as the top contender among 12 manufacturing companies evaluated, based on its brand strength, production capacity, and export potential. The unique aspect of DMR is that its products can be marketed to diverse customer segments across various age groups, income levels, and geographies. Dr. Çamlıbel expressed satisfaction in creating a fund that promises secure and high returns for investors.
