This acquisition encompasses TPG Telecom's comprehensive fiber and transmission network, as well as its Enterprise, Government, and Wholesale (EG&W) customer base. Closing on February 13, 2025, this move aims to bolster Vocus’s existing infrastructure, allowing it to form a competitive fiber network extending 51,000km.
The acquisition includes TPG’s international submarine cable system, enhancing operational capabilities with a network totaling 14,700km and 19,000 connected buildings post-deal. Vocus anticipates significant synergies and cost savings through the integration of TPG’s assets into its existing operations. According to Jarrod Nink, Interim CEO at Vocus, "This agreement is transformative for Vocus and is an important step towards creating a more competitive landscape for the Australian telecommunications industry."
