VINCI Airports and Corvinus have jointly acquired Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport for €3.1 billion, solidifying their presence in Hungary's growing aviation market.
Target Information
VINCI Airports, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, has partnered with Corvinus, an investment fund wholly owned by the Hungarian state, to acquire the concession of Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. The transaction was completed with a consortium comprising AviAlliance, Malton, and CDPQ. The total value of the transaction amounts to €3.1 billion, supplemented by a net debt of €1.2 billion. Upon completion of the acquisition, VINCI Airports will operate the Budapest airport platform, with the ownership split between Corvinus holding 80% and VINCI Airports holding 20%.
As of 2019, Budapest Airport served approximately 16 million passengers, making it one of the key airports in Central Europe. The remaining concession duration exceeds 55 years, offering significant opportunities for long-term growth and development.
