PESA, the largest manufacturer of rail vehicles in Poland, is set to acquire HeiterBlick, a well-established manufacturer of trams and light rail vehicles based in Leipzig, Germany. HeiterBlick specializes in custom rail vehicles and the modernization of existing fleets and is currently undergoing a restructuring process due to financial difficulties faced in 2025.
The acquisition, which is part of a resolution during HeiterBlick's self-administration insolvency process, aims not only to preserve the approximately 250 jobs at HeiterBlick but also to expand its reach into the Western European market. An agreement outlining the investment was signed in December 2025, with the closing scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
