Strategic Storage Trust VI, Inc. (Lifecycle REIT) has entered into a merger agreement to acquire Strategic Storage Growth Trust III, Inc. in an all-stock transaction, which is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. This acquisition will enable Lifecycle REIT to expand its portfolio significantly by incorporating SSGT III’s real estate assets, which, as of June 30, 2026, includes 12 wholly-owned self-storage facilities across four states and three Canadian provinces. The facilities comprise approximately 9,215 self-storage units and around 981,465 net rentable square feet.
In addition to the self-storage facilities, the acquisition includes a 50% equity interest in three unconsolidated real estate ventures located in two Canadian provinces, as well as beneficial interests in three Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) sponsored programs. Following the completion of this merger, Lifecycle REIT is projected to have a total asset value of approximately $1.2 billion, enhancing its position in the self-storage sector.
