Dastgyr has raised $3.5 million in a seed funding round led by SOSV to enhance its technology and expand its operations within the B2B e-commerce sector in Pakistan.
Target Information
Dastgyr is a B2B e-commerce marketplace based in Karachi, Pakistan, that was established in 2020 by a team of former employees from Careem and Airlift. The platform facilitates local retailers, known as 'kiryanas', in procuring inventory ranging from fast-moving consumer goods to mobile accessories and stationery via its mobile application. With over 2,000 SKUs from various suppliers, Dastgyr currently operates in Karachi and Lahore, boasting a next-day delivery service. Since its launch in September 2020, the startup has reportedly served around 30,000 retailers.
The company's unique asset-light model distinguishes it from competitors, as Dastgyr neither owns nor stores inventory. Instead, it relies on suppliers to ship products to sorting centers upon customer orders, where they are then sorted and dispatched to local retailers. As the supply chain landscape in Pakistan becomes increasingly competitive, Dastgyr stands out with its innovative approach.
