Quantum Capital Partners (QCP) has announced the acquisition of Stadlbauer Marketing & Vertrieb GmbH (SMV), a renowned Austrian company, by its subsidiary Revell Carrera GmbH, which is part of Quantum Opportunity Fund II GmbH & Co. KG. This strategic acquisition allows Quantum to strengthen its position in the toy market, building on its previous purchase of Revell GmbH in 2018, a leading manufacturer of plastic model kits and remote-controlled toy models.
SMV is globally recognized as the market leader in slot car racing, known for its premium quality products that boast originality and detail. In addition to its iconic Carrera brand, which is synonymous with racing tracks, SMV also develops and sells a wide array of remote-controlled toys, including cars, airplanes, drones, and boats under the Carrera RC brand. SMV's portfolio further includes well-known German toy brands such as bubble manufacturer Pustefix and doll manufacturer Schildkröt. The combined revenue of the newly formed group encompassing Carrera, Revell, Pustefix, and Schildkröt is approximately EUR 130 million.
