Keunecke/EWU Group has successfully acquired Meininger Wurstspezialitäten GmbH, securing a workforce of 115 employees and reinforcing its presence in the processed meat industry in southern Thuringia.
Target Information
The Keunecke/EWU Group, which already has a presence in the Saale-Holzland-Kreis, has further expanded its operations by acquiring Meininger Wurstspezialitäten GmbH, effective retroactively from January 1st. A purchase agreement has now been finalized, allowing the group to take over all 115 employees of the southern Thuringian company, with a commitment to providing them with a long-term career path.
Based in Ballenstedt, Saxony-Anhalt, the Keunecke/EWU Group also includes EWU Thüringer Wurst und Spezialitäten in Serba, which is currently expanding by taking over the store network of the insolvent Thüfleiwa from Apolda. This acquisition is intended to create new job opportunities for production staff, essentially doubling the workforce of EWU.
