DNV has proposed the acquisition of Automa Power & Utilities S.A., a leading Brazilian technology firm that specializes in integrated monitoring, control, and performance management solutions for diverse power generation facilities. This includes renewable energy sources as well as transmission and distribution networks. The acquisition aims to enhance DNV’s role as a comprehensive digital operations partner for utilities and independent power producers (IPPs) across the globe, addressing a wide spectrum of the energy system.
Founded in 2006 and located in São Paulo, Automa has earned recognition for its innovative supervision and control technologies that serve hydro, wind, and solar energy applications. The company boasts an extensive portfolio featuring SCADA platforms, operational support tools, and substation protection and control systems. Currently, Automa manages over 60 GW of renewable energy capacity and oversees more than 200 substations in Brazil. In an expansion effort for 2024, Automa will establish its presence in Europe by opening an office in Porto, Portugal, successfully deploying its systems for solar plants across France, Germany, Italy, Croatia, and Poland.
