Fractal Systems and CSV Midstream Solutions have partnered to develop the EJS Regional Hub, aiming to improve bitumen upgrading and reduce environmental impact.
Target Overview
Fractal Systems Inc. and CSV Midstream Solutions Corp. have initiated a collaborative venture to develop an Enhanced JetShear (EJS) Partial Upgrading Hub, referred to as the EJS Regional Hub. This project is designed to offer bitumen producers enhanced product value while significantly reducing both diluent costs and the carbon footprint associated with bitumen transportation. The facility, with a projected capacity of approximately 50,000 barrels per day (bpd) of bitumen feed, aims to meet the growing demands of the energy sector in Canada by utilizing Fractal’s innovative EJS technology.
The EJS technology has demonstrated the ability to effectively enhance bitumen quality by reducing acidity and lowering viscosity, which minimizes the required diluent for pipeline specifications by over 50%. With strong demand from producers and established relationships with government funding agencies, Fractal and CSV are poised to take significant steps in advancing this project.
