Target Information
Located in Lostock, Northwest England, the Energy-from-Waste (EfW) plant is designed to have a capacity of 60 megawatts (MW) and will process approximately 600,000 tonnes of waste annually. The plant is being constructed by a consortium led by CNIM, a renowned international expert in waste treatment and energy-from-waste solutions. The construction will unfold in two phases, beginning with a 15-month enabling works program followed by a three-year building phase that includes a six-month commissioning period. Operational commencement is anticipated in the second quarter of 2023.
FCC Environment (FCC), a leading resource and waste management firm in the UK, will oversee the operation and maintenance of the plant while also serving as the waste supplier. The total investment for the Lostock project is projected to be around GBP 480 million, with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) contributing 60% of the investment through its CI III fund and FCC providing the remaining 40%.
