Fenix Power Perú has requested a temporary concession to develop the Parque Solar Chasqui solar generation project in Ica, reflecting its strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio.
Target Information
Fenix Power Perú is the owner of the Fénix Thermal Power Plant located in Las Salinas, Chilca. Recently, the company has submitted a request to the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) for a temporary concession to develop the "Parque Solar Chasqui" solar generation facility in the Ica Province and Department. This request was officially published in the El Peruano Official Bulletin on December 21 and signed by a Minem official earlier this month.
Upon approval of this concession, Fenix Power will conduct the necessary studies to assess the solar radiation potential in the area and evaluate the feasibility of the photovoltaic project, which aligns with the increasing significance of renewable energies in the country's electrical matrix. Currently, Fenix Power contributes 6% to the total electricity generation of Peru.
