The project, a battery storage facility with a capacity of 50 MW and 100 MWh, is located in Jämsä, Central Finland. This project has been acquired by the technology company Second Foundation and is now set to enter the construction phase. Winda Energy Oy, which is majority-owned by BHM since 2017, has played a crucial role in the project since its inception and will oversee its construction and technical implementation.
Winda Energy possesses extensive experience not only in battery storage systems but also in the development and construction of wind power plants in Finland. An example of their expertise can be seen in a past transaction with BlackRock for a total capacity of 220 MW. The project in Jämsä continues the momentum established by another battery storage project in Rautavaara, commenced last year, reinforcing Winda Energy's growing presence in the Finnish battery energy storage systems (BESS) market.
