Attero, a prominent waste processing and recycling company, has successfully acquired Greenferm's manure processing plant located in the De Ecofactorij industrial estate in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. This significant acquisition represents Attero's inaugural venture into manure fermentation and complements its established expertise in processing a variety of organic waste streams. Notably, Attero currently processes nearly half of the Dutch vegetable, fruit, and garden waste, converting it into valuable products such as fertilizers, green gas, and bio-LNG. Within this context, the Greenferm processing plant aims to enhance biogas production through anaerobic digestion.
Greenferm has pioneered a cutting-edge concept for the processing of animal slurry, specifically from cattle, calf, and pig manure. The facility in Apeldoorn possesses an annual processing capacity of approximately 350,000 tonnes of manure, and operates in accordance with the Fertiliser Act. The end product is of exceptional quality, positioned for export, and serves as a valuable soil improver.
