AppBank Inc. is set to acquire the KNTV business, a dedicated channel for Korean pop culture, from SM ENTERTAINMENT JAPAN. The acquisition aims to leverage KNTV's strong brand presence and established viewership to enhance AppBank's portfolio of online media ventures, particularly focusing on Korean wave (Hallyu) content and popular intellectual properties.

The KNTV channel is projected to generate revenue of approximately 1.03 billion yen for the fiscal year ending in December 2025, covering a nine-month period. The acquisition price, however, is yet to be disclosed, with the targeted completion date set for March 2026.
