Target Information

Aegis, a provider of VR cinema solutions, has successfully raised nearly 20 million RMB in a Pre-A round of financing, marking its second fundraising effort within the year. Founded in April 2016 by CEO Chen Xin, Aegis focuses on developing and promoting whole solutions that integrate VR technology into traditional cinema experiences. The funds raised will primarily be used for channel promotion and technology research and development aimed at implementing large-scale VR cinema projects in traditional theaters. This includes gathering user feedback, validating the business model, and continuously optimizing the overall VR solution to enhance user experience and service quality.

Since its inception, Aegis has made significant strides, landing its first VR experience venue in a traditional cinema by March 2017. In the subsequent six months, it established operations in over 30 cinemas spread across nine cities, collaborating with major domestic cinema chains such as Dadi, Oscar, and Pacific Cinema. With over 150,000 consumers served and more than 50,000 members acquired, Aegis has proven that integrating VR into cinema not only enriches the viewing experience but also addresses the limitations of traditional cinema models.
