Aecon Utilities has agreed to acquire KPC, a contractor specializing in high-voltage testing and metering solutions, to enhance its service offerings and strengthen client relationships in Ontario's utility sector.

Aecon Utilities Group Inc., a subsidiary of Aecon Group Inc. (TSX: ARE), has announced its intention to acquire K.P.C. Power Electrical Ltd. and K.P.C. Energy Metering Solutions Ltd. (collectively referred to as "KPC"). Headquartered in Ontario, KPC specializes in high-voltage testing, commissioning, and metering solutions, playing a vital role in the utility infrastructure sector. The targeted acquisition, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, will be financed through Aecon Utilities' existing revolving credit facility. KPC currently employs around 100 personnel, primarily providing services to local distribution companies across Ontario.
KPC’s Power Electrical division, established in 2011, offers comprehensive high-voltage services that include substation technical services, emergency responses, project management, material procurement, quality assurance, and preventative maintenance. Meanwhile, KPC's Energy Metering Solutions division, founded in 2018, provides a range of services from meter installation to regulatory compliance for all voltage classes, underscoring the company's commitment to reliability and safety.
