InfraRed Capital Partners has sold a 40% stake in the Transmission Gully Motorway project to a New Zealand investor, highlighting the asset's value creation and the opportunities in New Zealand's growing infrastructure sector.
Information on the Target
InfraRed Capital Partners (“InfraRed”), a prominent international infrastructure asset manager, has recently finalized the sale of a 40% stake in the Transmission Gully Motorway project. This stake was held by an InfraRed-managed value-add fund and was sold to a private infrastructure investor based in New Zealand. The transaction allows InfraRed to realize the value accumulated throughout the project's construction phase for its investors.
The Transmission Gully Motorway spans 17 miles and is strategically located in the Wellington region of New Zealand. It was designed to provide a more efficient route by bypassing the previous coastal road. As one of four equity investors in the Wellington Gateway Partnership (WGP), InfraRed significantly contributed to the financing, design, and construction of the motorway as part of an availability-based Public Private Partnership with the New Zealand Transport Agency. The motorway officially opened to the public in March 2022.
