Cassa di Risparmio di Bolzano S.p.A. (commonly known as Sparkasse) and its subsidiary Banca di Cividale S.p.A. (referred to as Civibank) have entered into a strategic agreement with Nexi S.p.A., a leading player in the digital payments sector. This agreement involves the transfer of Sparkasse Group's merchant acquiring business to the Nexi Group along with a long-term collaboration aimed at promoting Nexi's innovative merchant acquiring products and services through Sparkasse's extensive commercial network.
The upfront value of the transaction is set at Euro 30.8 million, allocated as Euro 22.8 million for Sparkasse and Euro 8.0 million for Civibank, with an additional variable component based on the achievement of certain performance targets. This collaboration will empower Sparkasse Group to provide local merchants and businesses access to advanced payment solutions offered by the Nexi Group, enhancing their service capabilities in the digital payments landscape.
