Recently, the company secured strategic investments from Semco Maritime and Final Frontier, a Nordic venture capital fund in space and defense, with backing from former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen. This funding aims to bolster the production of STORMBORN's X-WAVE Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) demonstrator and further the advancement of its STORMCLOUD control system and SEAFENCE operational concept.
According to Frederik Søndergaard Hansen, CEO and Co-Founder of STORMBORN, the investment will enhance the construction of their X-WAVE USV platform, as well as accelerate the development of their associated technologies. He stated that the company's strong focus on commercial-scale production, cost-effectiveness, and high payload capacity positions STORMBORN to significantly impact continuous maritime surveillance and critical infrastructure protection, alongside civil offshore surveys, delivering true dual-use capabilities.
