Temasek Holdings has sold its 35% stake in Schneider Electric India for €5.5 billion, transferring full ownership to Schneider Electric and enhancing its strategic focus in one of the world's fastest-growing markets.

Target Information

Temasek Holdings, Singapore's state investment company, has divested its 35% stake in Schneider Electric India Pvt Ltd (SEIPL) for €5.5 billion (S$8.2 billion). This transaction signifies a remarkable tenfold return on Temasek's initial investment. The deal, announced on Wednesday, results in Schneider Electric fully acquiring SEIPL, thereby consolidating its operations in one of the fastest-growing markets worldwide.

Temasek had previously invested €530 million in SEIPL back in 2020, during a merger involving Schneider Electric's Indian operations and the electrical and automation division of Larsen & Toubro Ltd. Since its inception in 2018, SEIPL has rapidly ascended to become Schneider Electric’s third-largest revenue source, recording €1.8 billion in statutory revenue for 2024, with total sales from India reaching €2.5 billion across Schneider’s subsidiaries.
