Rumo and CHS Agronegócio have formed a joint venture to develop a multimodal grain terminal in Alvorada, Brazil, enhancing logistical operations to efficiently handle 1.5 million tons of grain annually.
Target Information
Located in the municipality of Alvorada, this terminal has a capacity to handle 1.5 million tons of grain annually, with shipments directed towards the Port of Santos (SP). It marks the first terminal developed by Rumo Malha Central in the state of Tocantins. The project includes upgrading the current road transshipment warehouse, which has a static capacity of 75,000 tons of grain. The facility is well-equipped with drying and standardization structures, including truck unloading through dumpers.
The joint venture between Rumo and CHS Agronegócio do Brasil aims to construct a multimodal terminal that facilitates both storage and transshipment of grains. This partnership will establish a rail spur and silo system that connects to the recently completed Ferrovia Norte-Sul, enhancing cargo connectivity to Brazilian ports.
