Pomelo Group, a prominent financial technology company based in Singapore, has successfully acquired Arrow Checkout, another fintech firm which specializes in eCommerce and checkout payments technology. Founded in 2021 by industry veterans from Grab and Tencent, Arrow Checkout has quickly gained recognition in the payments landscape. The firm is backed by prominent investors including Y Combinator, Peak XV (formerly Sequoia India and Southeast Asia), and Meta, and has received funding from leading angel investors associated with companies like Checkout.com, Coinbase, Grab, and VISA.
As part of the acquisition agreement, the founding team of Arrow Checkout will integrate into Pomelo’s operations in Singapore. Neo Liat Beng, the Co-Founder and CEO of Arrow, will take on the role of Chief Product Officer at Pomelo and will spearhead product development initiatives. Sebastian Roervig will serve as the VP of Sales & Business Development, focusing on enhancing the adoption of Pomelo’s platform in emerging Asian markets. Sudhan Raj will reinforce Pomelo’s engineering capabilities and contribute to future technological advancements.
