Cellnex has been actively operating in Ireland since 2019, when it acquired the tower and site operator, Cignal. The company further expanded its footprint in 2020 by securing a partnership with CK Hutchison, which allowed it to acquire a portfolio of telecommunications infrastructure across six European countries, including Ireland. At the time of the acquisition, Cellnex was managing around 2,000 sites within the country.
