ORLEN has acquired full control of the butadiene extraction facility from Synthos for approximately 692 million PLN, aiming to strengthen its petrochemical production chain.
Information on the Target
ORLEN has entered into an agreement with Synthos for the acquisition of 100% ownership of the company S54, which is responsible for constructing a new butadiene extraction facility. This facility will become an integral part of the Production Plant in Płock, enhancing ORLEN's petrochemical production chain. The transaction, valued at approximately 692 million PLN, is designed not only to facilitate this acquisition but also to streamline existing relationships between the companies, enabling a collaborative framework moving forward.
As part of this acquisition, ORLEN aims to regain full operational control over the butadiene extraction unit, essential to its ongoing production in Płock. This unit will process the C4 fraction completely and supply required raffinate for further petrochemical processes, thereby solidifying ORLEN's position in the petrochemical sector.
