Paramed Inc., a subsidiary wholly-owned by Extendicare Inc. (TSX: EXE), has entered into an agreement to acquire the home care business of CBI Health LP, operating under the name CBI Home Health LP. This strategic move is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, pending necessary regulatory approvals.
Since OMERS Private Equity's acquisition of CBI Health in 2011, it has collaborated closely with the company's leadership to transform it into one of the largest providers of integrated health care services in Canada. CBI Home Health has significantly expanded, increasing its workforce from 1,800 to 8,500 employees, and now provides over 10 million hours of care annually across seven provinces.
