Metito Utilities, a prominent global investor, developer, and operator specializing in sustainable water management solutions, leads a consortium that has recently been awarded the Hadda Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP) project in Makkah Province, Saudi Arabia. The consortium includes key partners such as Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) and SkyBridge Limited Company. This significant infrastructure project aims to enhance the wastewater treatment capabilities in Makkah, which hosts millions of pilgrims each year, thereby addressing the dual needs of a growing local population and the influx of visitors.

The Hadda ISTP is designed to expand wastewater treatment capacity and allow for large-scale water reuse in line with the National Water Strategy 2030 and Saudi Vision 2030. Developed under a 25-year Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model, the initial treatment capacity will be 100,000 m³/day, with the capability to expand to 250,000 m³/day as demand increases.
