Meraxis has announced its acquisition of REHAU Group's compounding plant in Velen, Germany, to expand its production capabilities and enhance its commitment to sustainable polymer solutions.
Information on the Target
Meraxis is advancing its corporate strategy by acquiring production and development capabilities, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards sustainable growth. Effective January 1, 2026, the Swiss distributor will assume control of the REHAU Group's compounding plant located in Velen, North Rhine-Westphalia. This facility boasts a production capacity of approximately 50,000 tons annually and specializes in manufacturing polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compounds tailored for various industries including automotive, medical, and furniture.
This acquisition enables Meraxis to exclusively distribute the plant's output, enhancing its already comprehensive portfolio of polymers that ranges from standard and recycled polymers to biopolymers and engineering polymers (ETPs), as well as masterbatches. The integration of the compounding plant aligns with Meraxis's broader strategy of evolving into a full-service provider capable of offering customized compounds sourced from its own production.
