Menzies Aviation has announced the acquisition of Spirit Cargo Handling, expanding its cargo capabilities in Norway and enhancing its service offerings in the Nordic region.

Menzies Aviation, a leading service partner for airports and airlines worldwide, has initiated the acquisition of Spirit Cargo Handling, which was previously owned by SAS Ground Handling Norway. This strategic acquisition represents a significant step in Menzies’ global strategy aiming to expand its cargo operations. Additionally, this marks Menzies' first foray into air cargo operations and warehousing in Norway.
The acquisition will enhance Menzies’ cargo handling capabilities, increasing its capacity by 150,000 tonnes annually. The focus will include the handling of high-demand products, particularly salmon, alongside general cargo and freighter services. As a part of the transaction, Menzies will take over the Spirit cargo warehouse at Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL), along with the associated employee contracts and existing freighter operations at the airport.
