Leonardo and Rheinmetall have formed a joint venture, securing a contract to supply the Italian Army with 21 advanced combat vehicles, marking a significant step in European defense collaboration.

The target of this deal is the joint venture between Leonardo S.p.A. and Rheinmetall AG, known as Leonardo Rheinmetall Military Vehicles (LRMV). This enterprise is headlined by a 50/50 ownership structure and is dedicated to the development and production of military combat vehicles in Europe. Recently, LRMV secured its first contract to provide 21 ‘A2CS Combat’ vehicles to the Italian Army, representing a significant milestone in the venture's progression.

The vehicles to be delivered include five Rheinmetall Lynx KF-41 models and 16 new models equipped with Leonardo’s Hitfist 30mm turret. The entire project aims to modernize the Italian Army’s operational capabilities with state-of-the-art machinery, indicating a strategic collaboration that enhances defense readiness.
