Grupo Mega secured a BRL 175 million investment from HSI to enhance its fleet and modernize operations in Brazil's grain export sector.

Information on the Target

Grupo Mega operates floating ports and a fleet of barges in northern Brazil, facilitating the export of grains. The Northern Arc ports account for approximately 50% of the total grain exports from the state of Mato Grosso and 37% of the national total. Since 2020, Grupo Mega has captured 10% of this market share, positioning itself as a significant player in the grain export sector.

The funds from the operation contracted in February 2022 with HSI, amounting to BRL 175 million, enabled the acquisition of 30 barges, as well as investments in transshipment operations and port elevation.

Industry Overview
