Holcim has successfully acquired Land Recovery, a prominent supplier of recycled and primary construction materials in the United Kingdom. Established in 1982 by the Beecroft family, Land Recovery operates four facilities across the UK and employs approximately 85 individuals. The company specializes in converting rail ballast into innovative solutions for the rail network in the UK, alongside supplying construction demolition materials utilized in the production of ready-mix, precast concrete, and asphalt. In the previous year, Land Recovery recycled over 300,000 tons of construction materials, substantially contributing to sustainable building practices.
This acquisition significantly enhances Holcim's capabilities in circular construction, aligning with its ambitious target of recycling 10 million tons of construction demolition materials by 2024. Miljan Gutovic, CEO of Holcim, expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating it strengthens Holcim's leading position in the market and marks the beginning of a new growth phase together with the dedicated team at Land Recovery.
