The Hassan Allam Utilities Energy Platform, a renewable energy investment initiative co-owned by Hassan Allam Utilities and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), is making strides in renewable energy development. In collaboration with Infinity Power, Africa's largest renewable energy firm, the platform has signed agreements with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to implement two significant renewable energy projects in Egypt. This marks the second venture for the Hassan Allam Utilities Energy Platform within the region.
These agreements were executed in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and signify a substantial advancement in Egypt's National Energy Strategy. The two projects aim to boost the role of renewable energy in Egypt's energy mix, decrease reliance on fossil fuels, and improve grid stability through cutting-edge storage technologies.
