Gourmey and Vital Meat have merged to form PARIMA, a new leader in the European cultivated meat industry, aimed at scaling production and achieving regulatory approval for cultivated proteins.
Information on the Target
PARIMA is the result of a merger between two innovative companies in the cultivated meat sector, Gourmey and Vital Meat. Gourmey specializes in high-value duck and poultry cell lines, while Vital Meat focuses on scalable production of cell-based chicken. This merger unifies their strengths and capabilities to create a leading entity in the European market for cultivated proteins and foods, enabling them to operate from cell biology to bioprocess design and regulatory processes. With one of the world’s largest cultivated meat facilities located in Paris, PARIMA sets out to industrialize large-volume production and achieve cost parity with traditional meats.
The newly formed company leverages Gourmey’s advanced culinary technology—validated by Michelin-starred chefs and backed by production costs reported below €7/kg—and integrates it with Vital Meat's extensive experience in avian research, which spans approximately 25 years of development. This strategic collaboration equips PARIMA with critical resources and a substantial patent portfolio that encompasses over 15 patent families and 70 patent applications, underpinning their operations across key international regulatory frameworks.
