Rally Capital Advisors has facilitated the sale of the historic Clementon Amusement Park and Splash World to real estate broker Gene Staples, aiming for a revitalization of the iconic entertainment venue.
Target Information
Clementon Amusement Park and Splash World, collectively referred to as Clementon, is a historic 52-acre amusement and water park located on a spring-fed lake between Philadelphia, PA, and Atlantic City, NJ. Established in 1907 by Theodore Gibbs and his sons, Clementon originally functioned as a trolley park designed to boost ridership on the weekends and provide recreational opportunities to residents of Philadelphia and neighboring communities. The park maintained a family-run operation until 2011 when it was acquired by Premier Parks, which rebranded it to reflect the addition of the water park.
Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which complicated the sale process, Rally Capital Advisors effectively garnered significant interest, with over 300 prospective bidders qualifying to participate. Ultimately, Chicago-based real estate broker Gene Staples successfully won the bidding for the entire property, which included amusement park rides, water attractions, the real estate, and a full liquor license.
