Eletrobras has successfully finalized the acquisition of Cemig's and Orteng's stakes in Retiro Baixo Energética S.A. for a total consideration of R$ 222 million. With this transaction, Eletrobras, which previously held a 49% stake through its subsidiary Eletrobras Furnas, has now achieved 100% ownership of the Retiro Baixo Hydroelectric Power Plant.
The Retiro Baixo Hydroelectric Power Plant is strategically situated along the lower course of the Paraopeba River, nestled between the municipalities of Curvelo and Pompéu in the State of Minas Gerais. It boasts an installed capacity of 82 MW and a physical guarantee capacity of 34.8 MW, positioning it as a vital asset in the region's energy infrastructure.
