(NASDAQ: ESLT, TASE: ESLT), a prominent international defense technology company, announced on January 3, 2022, that its subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Elbit Systems Emirates Limited, has secured a significant contract valued at approximately $53 million. This contract entails the provision of Direct Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) and airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) systems for the Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft used by the UAE Air Force. The execution of this contract is scheduled to span over a five-year period.
As part of this agreement, Elbit Systems Emirates will deliver a multi-turret configuration of the J-MUSIC™ Self-Protection System along with the Company’s Infra-Red-based Passive Airborne Warning System, achieving high levels of operational protection and redundancy. Elbit's DIRCM systems have already accumulated over 350,000 operational flight hours and are installed on more than 25 aircraft types. The increasing demand for these self-protection capabilities is largely driven by a rising threat from shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles.
