Affinity Flying Training Services Ltd. ("Affinity") is a joint venture established in the UK between Elbit Systems Ltd. and Kellog, Brown and Root Ltd. ("KBR"), with each party owning a 50% share. Recently, Affinity was awarded a contract valued at approximately $88 million (£65 million) by the UK Ministry of Defence to operate four additional Texan T-6C aircraft for the UK Military Flying Training System ("UKMFTS") program. This contract will be executed over a span of 12 years, further solidifying Affinity's role in aviation training for the UK’s military forces.
The Texan T-6C aircraft operated by Affinity will primarily be stationed at Royal Air Force ("RAF") Valley, augmenting the existing fleet of 10 Texans already in service. The UKMFTS program is critical for the United Kingdom, responsible for delivering and supporting RAF pilot training, which encompasses procurement, operational training, and maintenance services. To date, Affinity has successfully recorded over 20,000 flying hours under this essential training initiative.
