CVC DIF has acquired 100% of OMR Moerdijk B.V., a key player in the Dutch waste-to-biogas sector, to enhance the company’s growth and contribute to sustainability efforts in energy production.
Information on the Target
OMR Moerdijk B.V. ("OMR") is a prominent player in the waste-to-energy sector, operating since 2005 in Moerdijk, the Netherlands. The company specializes in processing food waste through anaerobic digestion, transforming it into biogas which is subsequently utilized for generating electricity and heat via combined heat and power (CHP) turbines. In 2024, OMR successfully processed approximately 50,000 tonnes of food waste, resulting in the production of around 19 GWh of electricity. The site is currently undergoing an upgrade with the installation of a biogas upgrader that will convert raw biogas into high-value biomethane, thereby enhancing its environmental impact and operational efficiency.
This facility not only provides renewable energy but also plays a critical role in supporting the Dutch energy transition. As emissions are reduced through ongoing upgrades, OMR strengthens its commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.
