Crédit Agricole Assurances and Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) have entered into an agreement to acquire a 25% stake in Repsol Renovables, a subsidiary of Repsol S.A. focusing on renewable energy. The acquisition comes with an implied enterprise value of €4.4 billion. Repsol Renovables currently operates an installed renewable generation capacity of 1.6 GW, featuring a diverse portfolio that includes wind farms, solar assets, and hydropower plants situated in Spain, Chile, and the United States.
In collaboration with Crédit Agricole Assurances and EIP, Repsol intends to execute a strategic plan aimed at boosting its total installed capacity to 20 GW by the year 2030. The consortium's acquisition is poised for finalization in the fourth quarter of this year, contingent upon fulfillment of customary closing conditions and regulatory approval.
