CCU (Compañía Cervecerías Unidas S.A.), a prominent Chilean beverage company, has announced a strategic joint venture with Postobón, the leading non-alcoholic beverage producer in Colombia. This partnership aims to enhance and develop the craft beer sector in Colombia through the production, marketing, and distribution of both beers and malt-based non-alcoholic beverages. The joint venture will establish a new entity named Central Cervecera de Colombia S.A.S., with both CCU and Postobón holding equal stakes of 50%.
The venture involves an investment plan of approximately USD $400 million to be executed over three to four years. Central Cervecera de Colombia will construct a brewery, generating around 1,000 jobs during construction and up to 1,800 direct and indirect jobs once operational. The facility will be located in Sesquilé, just north of Bogotá.
