Burda International CZ has fully acquired Extra Online Media, enhancing its presence in the Czech online media market.

Extra Online Media (EOM), established in 2013, has emerged as a leading player in the online media sector, boasting a significant publishing portfolio that attracts nearly five million unique users each month. The company operates several popular websites, including its flagship site eXtra.cz, the cooking platform Toprecepty.cz, and women's website Lifee.cz, along with G.cz, Extralife.cz, and OneTv.cz.

The organization was previously owned by Pale Fire Capital, which held a 75% stake, alongside CEO Tomáš Kačena, who maintained a 25% share. As of June 5, 2023, ownership of EOM has been fully acquired by Burda International CZ. Tomáš Kačena will continue as the company's CEO, now reporting to Petra Fundová, the General Director of Burda International CZ. Despite the acquisition, EOM and Burda are expected to operate as separate entities.
