Austral Resources has entered into a binding agreement to acquire CRA, securing the Rocklands Copper Mine and enhancing its regional consolidation strategy in Queensland's mining sector.
Target Information
CRA is the owner of the Rocklands Copper Mine, situated near Cloncurry in northwest Queensland. In November 2024, CRA faced financial difficulties, leading them to enter voluntary administration. The firm Cor Cordis was appointed as Voluntary Administrators with the responsibility of evaluating options to stabilize CRA's operations and preserve its business value.
Following this, Argonaut was retained by Cor Cordis to oversee a formal process aimed at assessing value realization strategies. These included options for sale, recapitalization, or restructuring of CRA as well as its associated assets. This strategic approach was necessary to navigate the complexities faced by CRA during its administration.
