TotalEnergies has finalized the sale of a 50% stake in its 424 MW wind and solar portfolio in Greece to Asterion Industrial Partners for €508 million, which will enhance its operational strategy in the renewable energy sector.
Target Information
TotalEnergies is strategically developing a competitive portfolio that encompasses renewable energy sources such as solar, onshore wind, and offshore wind, alongside flexible assets like combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) facilities and energy storage solutions. By diversifying its investments, the company aims to optimize profitability while sharing risks associated with renewable operations. In line with this strategy, TotalEnergies has decided to divest up to 50% of its stakes in these renewable assets, ensuring it can both enhance the overall value of its portfolio and maintain operational control.
As part of this initiative, TotalEnergies retains a 50% interest in the renewable assets and continues to serve as the operator. Additionally, the company will manage the offtake and marketing of the electricity generated by these assets once they are no longer eligible for regulated tariffs.
