Target Information
Adani Power has successfully acquired Vidarbha Industries Power Ltd. (VIPL) for a total consideration of ₹4,000 Crore. Following the acquisition, which was finalized on July 7, 2025, VIPL has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Power, with Adani Power now holding 100% of the company's shareholding.
Vidarbha Industries operates a domestic coal-fired power plant with a capacity of 2×300 MW located in Butibori, within the Nagpur district of Maharashtra. The plant underwent a Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) in accordance with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), which facilitated the company's acquisition.
