Information on the Target
We are pleased to announce that our portfolio company, SmartHR, has successfully closed a Series B funding round totaling 1.5 billion yen. This round was led exclusively by 500 Startups Japan, which invested the full amount.
SmartHR is a well-known player in Japan's IT industry, providing cloud-based human resource management software. Their platform streamlines the cumbersome processes of social insurance and labor insurance paperwork, including document preparation, applications to government agencies, personnel master management, and data sharing with employees. Similar services in the United States include Gusto, Namely, and Zenefits. Surprisingly, as of 2018, many Japanese companies were still managing these tasks using paper documents and Excel spreadsheets. If your company falls into this category, we highly recommend discussing SmartHR with your HR department!
