IMPAQTO Capital has invested in CICLO, a Peruvian company that transforms construction waste into eco-friendly materials, enhancing sustainability in the construction industry.
Information on the Target
CICLO is a groundbreaking Peruvian company focused on revolutionizing the construction industry by turning construction and demolition waste into eco-friendly building materials. With a significant daily generation of 25,000 tons of such waste in Lima alone, CICLO aims to address the challenge of waste management and recycling, where currently 75% of this waste is not effectively recycled. Instead, it is often discarded informally, which not only harms the environment but also disproportionately affects low-income communities.
At the forefront of this endeavor, CICLO utilizes a circular economy model where it not only collects but also processes construction waste to create sustainable materials, including paving stones and bricks. By partnering with construction and real estate firms, CICLO provides waste management services and repurposes these materials into high-quality eco-friendly products sold to construction companies through various retail partners. Thus far, the company has successfully recycled 50,000 tons of waste, preventing the emission of 15,000 tons of CO2 compared to traditional material production.
