Revego Africa Energy Limited (Revego) stands as South Africa’s only yield company focused on the renewable energy sector, primarily through its investment in the Revego Africa Energy Fund. Recently, Revego acquired stakes in several prominent wind assets contributing to the establishment of a sustainable clean energy framework within South Africa.
The acquired assets include the Mainstream wind assets, specifically the Loeriesfontein 2 Wind Farm, Khobab Wind Farm, and Noupoort Wind Farm, all located in the Northern Cape. The Loeriesfontein and Khobab wind farms, each with a capacity of 140 MW, were completed in December 2017, while the Noupoort Wind Farm, with a capacity of 80 MW, was finalized in July 2016. These projects were developed under Bid Window 3 of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), spearheaded by Mainstream Renewables SA, a notable developer in the wind and solar PV sector.
