Pacific Seafood Group has acquired the defunct NovoMar skin-pack plant in Doral, Florida, enhancing its operational capacity and positioning for growth in the Southeast grocery market.
Information on the Target
The Pacific Seafood Group, a leading industry player based in Clackamas, Oregon, has successfully acquired the assets of the former NovoMar skin-pack plant located in Doral, Florida. This 26,000-square-foot distribution plant, situated near Miami's international airport, will enhance Pacific's operational capabilities in the region. The acquisition includes not only the plant's building but also its equipment, allowing Pacific to optimize its seafood processing and distribution operations.
The former NovoMar facility was initially designed to process as many as 35,000 skin packs per shift, with an annual capacity of up to 40 million pounds once fully operational. By securing this facility, Pacific intends to reduce its dependency on third-party suppliers and bolster its value-added capabilities, specifically in skin-pack salmon processing.
